Ladies Safeguarding & Welfare Officer

Risborough Rugby Club is looking for a committed and approachable Ladies Safeguarding & Welfare Officer to support the wellbeing, safety and welfare of players within our growing Ladies Rugby programme.
This is an important volunteer role within the club, helping ensure our players have a safe, inclusive and supportive environment in which to enjoy rugby. You'll work closely with the club's Safeguarding Lead, coaches, committee and players to promote good welfare practices and respond appropriately to any concerns.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting others and wants to make a meaningful contribution to the growth of women's rugby.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a key welfare contact for players within the Ladies section.
Support the implementation of the club's safeguarding and welfare policies.
Listen to and respond appropriately to player concerns or welfare issues.
Work closely with the Club Safeguarding Lead when concerns are raised.
Promote a positive, respectful and inclusive team environment.
Support coaches and volunteers in understanding their safeguarding responsibilities.
Ensure appropriate safeguarding procedures are followed during training, matches and club activities.
Help signpost players towards appropriate support and resources when required.
Maintain appropriate confidentiality while following club safeguarding procedures.
Promote player wellbeing both on and off the pitch.
We're Looking For Someone Who
Is approachable, trustworthy and a good listener.
Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Is passionate about player welfare and creating positive sporting environments.
Can handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
Is organised and able to work collaboratively with coaches and club volunteers.
Holds, or is willing to complete, appropriate RFU safeguarding training.
